| Here we offer what we refer to as our "heavy D" selection. These are big and bulky D rings that are ideal for use in applications such as dog collars, plant hangers, belts, and many other uses where a D that can support some serious weight is needed. These are formed by bending stock wire into the correct shape, and then applying a weld to the point where they join. The finish is applied after that process is complete. This differs from cast rings, which are poured as molten metal into a mold, and the resulting product is without a weld, and one solid piece. The welded wire rings (these) are by far both the most common, and the least expensive. We provide 2 measurements, the first, in inches, is the inner diameter of the ring, this is measured at the straight part of the D, and, therefore, is the size of the material which will fit correctly into the ring. This dimension is just slightly generous (a 2" ring may measure 2.05") so that there is no binding. The second is the thickness, in millimeters, of the material itself. Separately we offer other styles of D rings which you can view from the menu to your left. Please see sizes available in the chart below. |
